We dine at this fine establishment 3 to 4 times monthly and have for the past two years--Their consistent quality , service and cleanliness is without fault--We recommend highly--NB the fresh trout and the stuffed chicken!!
A wonderful place to eat! The food & service was excellent. The ambience of an old mill was comforting and definately condusive to a fine dining experience. The caesar salad was one the best I've ever had. The main course was properly cooked and presented. Service was fast and our server was properly attentive to our needs. We all left happy with our experience and will definately return.
Inviting atmosphere. Delicious food. Good service. Reasonably priced Brunch. Cant count the times I have been there since, 1970. I will always return.
The Aberfoyle Mill consistently delivers what I consider to be the best Sunday brunch in Ontario (and my widening girth will tell you I've been to many!). The brunch begins with a trip to the "buffet" table, which isn't one of those all-you-can-eat, buckets-of-slop displays that one often brings to mind when envisioning a "buffet." Fabulous salads with fresh, expensive ingredients; deliciously warm and soft, freshly baked french sticks; smoked salmon, rich cheeses, fresh fruit, delightfully tender, marinated calamari...the list is limited but all offerings are top quality and special in their own right. I would be happy to stop at the buffet, but then customers are offered a choice of entrees (usually an egg dish, roast, pasta and fish) that are freshly prepared on your request and delivered to your table. Vegetarian requests are honoured. I highly recommend any fish dish - always perfectly cooked and accompanied with equally well-prepared vegetables. As if all this wasn't enough, the dessert table is so good that I've often fantasized about skipping the main course so I could leave enough room to revel in the fabulousness of every delight. Especially good are the chocolate mousse, the trifle (with fresh berries), and the decadent pies (often fresh from the oven). Guaranteed to satisfy even those who avoid buffets out of fear of the inevitable mediochrity of selections.
Would this restaurant be busy if the population in the area hadn't exploded? Try fair prices and genuine service to replace the wordy menu and too many ingredients on the plate.
