Very Disappointing! rigid, not accommodating to people with allergies! Was told -will remove items on menu but will Not Substitute- other items & alternates will be charged extra! Service is limited! -no one came to refill water glasses - nor return to our table ask how we were - as they did to adjacent table who arrived 15 min later!! TREAT ALL YOUR CLIENTS EQUALLY!
I have been coming to Cafe Limoncello for years. I always bring clients from out of town for lunch and dinner. Great Food, Great Service, Great Atmosphere. They also have a private banquet room which we had our Christmas Party. Everything for Fantastic.....
Food was bland and more or less tasteless. Portions were very small. Service was slow (and 2 mistakes were made in the order). Atmosphere is crowded to the point that they might as well have one long table and bench rather than separate tables that are a centimeter apart. Prices are exorbitant for the little that you get. It seems they do good business here and I can't for the life of me figure out why ....
OK, let me just say that this not a bad restaurant as the food was OK, it's just overpriced for what you get. I selected a small pasta and my friend a regular, and both of them were quite small. Neither of us are big eaters and we were still hungry afterwards. (Not pleased at all.) On the plus side, this place has a nice atmosphere. If you're stuck in the area and need a place to go for lunch, then this is OK. Otherwise, there are better spots downtown and in Stoney Creek.
Very clean restaurant. Good quality food, have always had excellent service here as well. Think their original menu was better though, hate to say it! Can get crowded but you get lucky sometimes. I've been several times
We arrived for our Valentines Reservations to a very crowded restaurant. The tables are so close together , it's like you're dining with other people. The waitresses are squeezing between tables to get by. We both chose not to get the Valentines Specials. I got a pasta dish. The sauce was delicious, the pasta undercooked & the portion was very small, and I got the regular. We didnt get bread with our meal & were sapossed to. The waitress wasnt friendly or observent. The dessert we chose was terrible! The hardest working person in the place was the busboy! He didnt stop the whole time we were there. I hope they tip him out well!
Got the special as we had arrived without a reservation very early on New Years Eve. It was advertised as seafood ravioli in a cream lemon sauce with dill. Despite the fact that all three meals were to be served with bread and hummus, only one plate of it arrived. No offers of salad, soup. But the worst was yet to come. Wait staff didn't offer a large or small size assumed we wanted large. First plate full of pasta was barely cooked. Pasta was not opaque and was CRUNCHY!!. It was replaced with the proviso that it had been cooked as much as it could be without it falling apart. Someone doesn't know how to make ravioli? Filling was obviously imitation crab meat, a small amount of shrimp might have been present, but was impossible to taste over a cream sauce that contained so much lemon it puckered the mouth. The pasta was not el dente, it was still undercooked. Inedible. No one offered to comp the meal or correct the situation. This place is so hit and miss, I am not going to chance a miss again! The problem with the noise level has never been addressed. The restaurant was less than 1/4 full and so noisy conversation was almost impossible at the table.
My Husband and I fell in love with this restaurant right away. We have come to love the chicken parmigiana (best chicken parm I have ever had... with fresh chicken and sauce that is out of this world). This dish is consistently incredible. We also order the tuscan vegetable pizza- which is HUGE and loaded with toppings. I usually can only eat a couple of pieces and take the rest home for two more meals. We love this meal combo so much we rarely venture outside of this order. Also, the portions are huge which justifies the moderate price. The staff has always been friendly, attentive and quick to refill drinks - even when it is very busy. This place really is a gem.
I dislike being negative about a restaurant but, then again, I have to be truthful about it, as to how I felt. It was my first time frequenting this restaurant, and it was for breakfast. I ordered bacon and eggs. I asked that my eggs well done, not realizing that this meant "barbecued" at this establishment. So, after returning them, I was probably in their bad books for the rest of the visit. Anything positive? Yes, I did like the homefries very much, and the coffee was good. My friend ordered the Mexican Omelette, and said it was good. Do I have suggestions for them? Yes, the customer greeting when arriving should be more enthusiastic and a bit friendlier, to make you feel genuninely welcomed. If you've been to Apple Annie's in Burlington for the $5.45 breakfast, including coffee, you will see how much more you're paying at Limoncello's and getting less and not as good. Sorry, but that's how I feel. Try it, you may love it. Who knows! Will I go back. Yes, I'll probably go back at some point. I won't completely judge it on only one visit. And by the way, if they were to serve a breakfast special before 10:00 a.m., for $5.95, including coffee, I bet the place would be humming with business.
This was my 3rd time there. Hubby had the pasta of the day, he said it was ok, nothing special but honestly, he could have eaten 3 bowls due to the size of the serving. It came with some kind of "herbed" sour dough bread that neither of us liked. I ordered the crab cakes. very tasty but again...Small! 2 for $11- I dont think I'll be going back, its nice for a get together, but not if you are very hungry.
The food is good, although not spectacular - nothing stood out. There weren't a lot of people dining when we arrived, maybe we were early, however we did enjoy a nice Sunday dinner, the wait staff were fine and the ambiance was pleasant. Pasta dishes were tasty. Overall good food.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere; a kind of bustling but intimate feel. The service was good but the food took a little long to be served. It was lunch rush and we were a big party so not a big deal. I ordered a pepperoni pizza with some veggies and it was okay. Not bad, but the pepperoni didn't have much flavour and the cheese seemed cheap. Again, the pizza wasn't bad, just not what I was expecting from an Italian restaurant.
We've visited this restaurant a couple of times and enjoyed the food for the most part. I ordered the pesto con polo and the chicken was a little weird tasting. I also ordered some cheese cake and it didn't seem 100% fresh. Other than that, the food was great. Good service, always filling up your water glass. Good prices.
I went there for dinner after work and was expecting a nice dinner but i thought wrong. I ordred pan seared slamon with an blck olive tapanad. I the food was awsome but the food was cold. The witer that i had was very polite but he had noo colue what he was doing. When we wentr to go get a bottle of wine he climbed up on the table and got it almost dropping the bottle causing it to break. I expect better.
I visited Cafe Limoncello for a family function of 20 people. The food and the service was amazing. They accommodated my mother who is a Celiac. They have many options for Celiacs, Gluten Free pizza and pastas. We all had a great time. We have booked our next family function, which is my wedding rehearsal, in their Private Room; The Bella, which is located on the lower level. We have about 50 people attending in June. Everyone can't wait.
The Good: - beautiful, modern looking restaurant - menu selection - affordable prices The Bad: - our two servers - can be loud at time, esp. the kitchen / window pass area Details: We arrived for lunch for a 12:30 PM reservation and the place was about 90% full. It took a couple of minutes to get seated. It took a while to place our order, but we shared bruschetta as an appetizer once we got it. The bruschetta was excellent. I can't remember what the other colleagues had for lunch but I had the vodka penne with caesar salad. The caesar salad was average but the vodka penne was very nice. The portions for both the salad and pasta were good and well suited to the price. However, we got our lunch items at different times and had to wait until everyone got their items. I was disappointed with the attitude and comments from one of our servers (however since this is the first time, I will chalk this up to a bad day maybe because the restaurant was full). Overall, the food was very good and we all enjoyed our lunch with minor exception to the service. I didn't hear anything one way or another before going to Cafe Limoncello but I would definitely like to go back for lunch and one day try their breakfast.
This place is wonderfully, the food is great and so was the service. We will all be back with our families.
Cafe Limoncello is a great place to take clients. My clients where so impressed, we always go back when they are in town. Make sure you make reservations, they are always busy.
Someone recommended Limoncello and I read the reviews on this site. Three quarters were very positive and one quarter negative. Well, I should have paid more attention to the negative ones. We were very disappointed with the meal. Both dishes were totally bland. My wife left half her Linguine and I left about half my spaghetti. The sauce on the Veal dish had practically no tomato taste and the veal was tough. We know several area eateries that have way better italian food. Although the restaurant was less than 1/4 full, it was very noisy - it could do with some sound deadening material.
A friend recommended this place and he was right about Cafe Limoncello. Reservations where recommended so I did. The place was fantastic; the food was unbelievable and the service was great. The food came out hot and delicious. We all had desserts and there where out of this world. We will be returning and telling all our friends about this place.
