Since the 1980s, Thompson Optics has provided quality frames for people with vision difficulties, from the simplest eye strain to distorted corneas. “More than anything, we treat people the way we would like to be treated when we go some place. We are extremely friendly,” says owner and optician Jim Thompson. “It’s a very open, friendly, light atmosphere.”
An independent operator, Thompson Optics deals with most ophthalmologists and optometrists in the area. “I refer people to ophthalmologists and optometrists on a daily basis, and I get referrals from them on a daily basis. Most optical companies don’t enjoy that luxury,” Jim points out. He notes that most businesses like his deal with only one ophthalmologist for their prescriptions.
