Founded in 1997, Canadian Salvaged Timber is a reclaimed wood supply, design and build company located in Parkdale. With decades of experience and a commitment to sourcing high quality salvaged wood, Canadian Salvaged Timber supplies Torontonians with sustainable, handcrafted furniture, shelving, flooring and more.
Founding owner Lambos Tsaousidis opened business in Liberty Village and moved Canadian Salvaged Timber to Parkdale in 2010. You can find the storefront and workshop just north of Queen West on Dufferin in an industrial studio space.
The front shop is a trove of reclaimed wood treasures and is surprisingly cozy under high, peaked ceilings. Large slabs and beams fill the space with some of CST’s fine craftsmanship displayed on the front counter and stools. The gentle hum of saws and the smell of freshly cut wood waft into the store from the adjoining workshop.
Treasure seekers will find a hobby section and stock of do-it-yourself wood at the back of the store. Canadian Salvaged Timber employee James St. Martin encourages wood aficionados and hobby workers to stop in and see what they can find. “There are some pieces of gold in there,” raves James. You can find real gems in the off-cut section like walnut, spalted maple, oak and red oak, barn boards and live edge pieces.
