Gtown needs a restaurant that serves good food, has atmosphere and great service. Unfortunately, The Copper Kettle does not consistently deliver in these areas. During a recent visit it was noisy, the food was tasty but lukewarm, the tea and coffee were not hot on arrival and, when additional curry sauce was requested, we were told a $15 charge would be added. I suppose The Copper Kettle is always booked solid because the town has so few choices to eat that are not chain restaurants. Sad.
I'm sorry to hear that the pub makes you sad, and that shouldn't happen. I can take full responsibility for that. Chef mentioned the request for extra sauce to me after your visit. The young server did the right thing by asking the price, but Chef is very food/recipe proud and she should have asked the manager on duty in this case. He did say he told her $14 though, so you did get charged the wrong amount. I will reimburse you for the curry and the tea and coffee. janet@copperkettle.ca

My husband and I went on the recommendation of a friend. The restaurant itself waa quite nice with a nice warm, intimate Feel. We both ordered the French onion soup, hubby had fish and chips, I had chicken penne. Not bad but for some odd reason laced with black pepper. Couldn't finish the food because of it and we both had upset stomachs after from all the pepper. Our friend said for wasn't like that she he went, so don't know what happened. Would like to go back, but not sure I want to risk i

Went to the copper kettle three times now. Everyone deserves a chance. Arrived sat inside as patio was full. Three other tables were taken inside. Owner comes with menus ask for drink order. No one comes back for half an hour to take our order. Waved a waitress down and got another drink. Took menus away without taking food order. Waitress arguing with owner all evening. I would have fired her. When will people in the service industry behave professionally and politely Won't Go back.
This was a long time ago, but i have just signed up for yp business and can now repond. Im not sure if you have been back, but the person you refer to as the owner was not me (Janet) and the employment for both of these employees was terminated the week after this review was written in 2017. Give us a try again and you will see that we have service industry professionals in the front and the back of house. janet@copperkettle.ca

stunning little locations!!! They've done a great job renovating this place and they have a wonderful admosphere for drinks and food. Can't wait to go back!
The Copper Kettle reopened this weekend. It has been completely refurbished, and the place is now bright and cheerful. A far better selection of beers (microbrewery ales), a decent pub menu, and a great ambiance. Check it out. It deserves support. Ignore the photograph - it is the wrong Copper Kettle!
We went in because I love Guinness. The lady actually poured the leftover beer she scraped off the previous customer into MY beer.
She was not very friendly and we had to call her over to give our requests.
My friend's fish and chips was adequate but my steak and kidney pie was horrendous. It looked like she had put a small store frozen pie in the microwave ; it was flat and the crust was wet. There were only three pieces of dried up meat. The promised fresh vegetable accompaniment ended up being those tiny cubed frozen carrots and peas.Her attitude put us off our meals.Wish we had gone to see the pottery next door first as the person there did not recomend the pub.
Terrible service - terrible food - sent fish back because it was not cooked - sent back the 2nd time - couldn't eat whatever it ended up being. Settled for a BLT (hard to ruin that) it came with a handful of potatoe chips - cost was $7.99!! Just the fish and chips $12.99 - you pay $1.00 extra each for coleslaw - gravey - tarter sauce - or mushy peas in little white paper cupts not even a proper portion. Poor quantity for what you pay. Beer $8.00.

My fiance and I had a late lunch here today and will definitely be back. Had tea and split ploughman's lunch on the patio and it was a lovely experience, surrounded by greenery and a huge Rose of Sharon tree in full bloom. Not really sure if previous posters had the same server as we did but we found ours to be adorably British and appropriately proper, yet warm and helpful at the same time, like a favourite auntie. Tea served in pretty pots and proper tea cups, and the ploughman's lunch was perfection. Cheese was room temperature (as it should be to bring out the flavour), vegetables were crispy and if the bread wasn't homebaked, it certainly tasted as though it was and was fresh as could be. Will definitely be back and will be recommending highly to everyone who will be in the area.
One cider and one beer cost $14! The staff gave the impression that we were a bother. The chairs were absolutely filthy and disgusting. I sat on a wooden bench instead. The decor was very British but that was the only nice thing about our time there. We just live 5 minutes down the road but will not be back.
This place needs new owners who want repeat business.
Having read the "troll" review I was keen to meet her in person and stopped in briefly on a Saturday afternoon in beautiful Glen Williams. We ordered only beer and tea but had a pleasant 20 minutes, did not find the owner trollish in any respect and enjoyed the somewhat kitschy decor, with Royal Family and Beatles trivia.
The pub looked charming from the outside, so we entered... the (mild mannered) locals finished giving us the once-over, and we took in the lite-rock radio and Cory on the telly..and.we thought it might be okay.
We each ordered what was supposed to be French Onion Soup (for a freezing January day). It could only be described as French Vinegar broth with Cheddar Cheese topping. It was vile from bite one, and haunted us for hours after.
When we told our local host where we had been, he said, "Oh no! Not that place!"
Nice location but terrible service and rude server. We arrived on Saturday afternoon for a drink and food after hiking the Bruce Trail. The women at the bar was rude and impatient and overall unpleasant. Same think again when we ordered the food which was adequate but expensive. It is bad emough to have rude service but combined with high prices and a dumpy patio is just an insult. Too bad there isn't an alternative in Glen Williams as competition would be helpful. Why be in the hospitality biz if you can't be hospitable?

This is a great relaxed place that's just what you expect from an English Pub. I've been there several times and the fish is good (a little undercooked last time but that's probably because I was in a hurry).
Don't be in a hurry here. Finish a beer or two at UK temperature. No cats when I was there but I would have loved some feline company.

My reveiw on this English pub is 10 + I have been here for lunch and drinks in the past and today I had my work Christmas lunch there .. and I had a wonderful time the best lunch.. and the girls that run this pub made our Christmas dinner one we will remember.. Thanks ladies for a wonderful lunch !!!! ( job well done as always)
