I went to hear years ago when I was in my 20s, the first counselor I ever saw and still to this day remember her. She straight up told me that she didnt think that I needed to be there. That I didnt need to see a counselor. I was having extreme depression and panic attacks at the time and paid out of my pocket to see her. I was devastated that I would reach out for help and get turned away like this. I was stunned. I think I saw her maybe 2-3 times.
